For many, this year, Christmas won't have the same festive feel. The impact of Coronavirus, with bereavements, job losses and/or reduction in earnings will make it more difficult to put food on the table for more than ever this Christmas/Winter.
The amazing work of FareShare, the charity that is fighting hunger and food waste, makes an enormous difference to the day to day life of so many. In response to COVID-19, FareShare have gone from providing one million meals per week, at the start of 2020, to now over three million.
As we enter into the Christmas period, we are expecting the demand for their support to increase further. They are constantly in need of donations from Food & Drink companies as well as volunteers in their nationwide depots.
This is why, after the success of 2019 Christmas collaboration, where we partnered with many of our Food & Drink peers, including Full Green, Real Handful, Liobites and VitHit, to provide over 15,000 meals, we are delighted to announce that we are back to partner again.
Just like that year, we are looking for Food & Drink brands to assist with the appeal. We are looking for donations of surplus stock that will go to help those that are most vulnerable at this time of year. These don't necessarily have to be household staples. Other food and drink products are also welcome (we are unable to accept alcohol, energy and cbd drinks).
We have set a target of the equivalent donation to provide 30,000 meals. Although a modest amount in FareShare's ecosystem, every product that we receive makes a difference.
If you are a Food or Drink brand and would like to donate stock, the process is very straightforward. Please contact kris@rejuvenationwater.com or hannah.bradley@fareshare.org.uk
For individuals, you can also donate directly to FareShare via their donation page here.
